As of publication of the 2008-09 Handbook, the objectives were under revision. Those listed below reflect the previous handbooks.
I. SPIRITUAL OBJECTIVES
- To help the students develop a Christian philosophy based on God's Word.
- To assist the students' recognition that Christ's life is the perfect example for all to emulate.
- To give the students practical and theoretical knowledge of God's plan for our world.
- To help the students realize that cooperation with God's plan for their lives brings the greatest satisfaction.
- To acquaint the students with the specific doctrines of Seventh-day Adventists and their unique contribution to the realm of Christianity.
- To help the students develop qualities for church leadership.
- To acquaint the students with the eschatology of events and their position in relation to these events.
- To help the students see that personal, private, daily prayer and Bible study is the only way to develop faith in God and an acceptance of His salvation.
- To encourage students to recognize and acknowledge God's ownership of human resources.
- To encourage students to make decisions based on moral and ethical values as well as on accumulated facts.

II. INTELLECTUAL OBJECTIVES
- To help the students develop a strong scholastic foundation.
- To assist the students in developing basic skills: e.g. to speak clearly, to read efficiently, to write effectively, to develop intellectual curiosity, to gain habits of accuracy, to cultivate self-discipline, to develop financial and economic responsibility and to realize the necessity of being a useful citizen.
- To help the students recognize that God is the center of the universe of all knowledge, and that all true knowledge comes from Him.
- To encourage the students to be lifelong learners as a means of furthering their understanding of God and God's place for them in this world.
- To assist the students in developing critical thinking skills.
- To assist the students in the development of self-discipline and self-control.

III. PHYSICAL OBJECTIVES
- To show the students the importance of a sound body and to help them understand the basic facts concerning health and disease, with particular emphasis on health and maintenance.
- To encourage the students in developing good health habits in the areas of diet, rest, self-discipline and exercise.
- To give the students training in physical development.
- To teach the students how to participate in physical activity for the primary benefit of health and productive use of leisure time.
- To show the students the strong, sympathetic relationship between a healthy body and sound spiritual and intellectual development.

IV. SOCIAL OBJECTIVES
- To develop the students' taste for Christian social graces regarding dress, language and deportment.
- To encourage the students to develop acceptable social behavior.
- To assist the students in becoming citizens who take an interest in their community and country.
- To help the students develop a personal concern for people, recognizing the intrinsic value of every individual.
- To help the students recognize and accept their civic responsibilities.
- To help the students develop the characteristics essential for the acceptance of Christian home responsibilities.
- To develop the students' aesthetic and intellectual appreciation for proper cultural values.

V. VOCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
- To introduce the students to vocational and technical occupations.
- To develop students' respect for the dignity of worthwhile labor, regardless of supposed social status.
- To develop the students' ability to accept responsibility and demonstrate efficiency and dependability in carrying out assigned tasks and following instructions.
- To develop, through experience, a practical understanding of employee-employer relationship and the ability to relate in a proper way to responsible supervision.
